hi all i think you all are goimg to have trouble cos ive tried rebuilding the 2 disk version

im not saying the rip wont work !!!!!!

if you use Apache2 2 look at the second layer you will find another file 3gig that you need ie disk 2

the disk that gnie tool makes is disk 1

you need to make disk two useing the same files but use datafile 2 as

Yeah I can confirm.I got half way through the game then it stopped.Flashing blue screen etc,

 

Ye it was after i did this mission where i went into this agency building then went to drive to this place, it went to save and the screen started flashing. so i had to turn it off, and corrupt my save game, CRAP! Any ideas on how to get second disc?AND again crap im gonna have to rip the 24 the game to my hd as i deleted the original one i had and the lba on the notepad.

 

is this for the 2Disk Version (where it stops halfway) OR the full version from a PAL Disk?

Not sure, when i rebuilt it i just prusumed it was the full version.

 

just as i thought sorry boys for the bad news but there you go

if you havent got the iso anymore you are screwded

if you have use Apache2 you extract the secon layer

you should get one 1 file gamedata2

extract it as far as i can see you still use the same files as before apart from the gamedata file you are going to need to confirm this your self if not i can upload the other files you will be missing

just rebuild as usual

i ont know how it plays with s/m due to i havent got that far but from what ive found you its going to be pretty imposs due to use need to swap disk 1 and 2 constanly till you get well past a certain point i dont think s/m will be able to do i think you will need a modchip

So guys,any progress.Has anyone managed to make a good working backup of the game on a dvd-5 from the dvd-9 version of the game and if yes how?

 

I'll let you know when I've played it throughout if there are any probs with it.. for now can neither confirm or deny problems that some others have reported...

Boobooman, did you try it with an original iso ripped from disc? or only from torrent DL?

 

i downloaded my 2 disk but i tried ripping from orginal thats when i found the second layer the file name is datafile2 the game is ful of foreingn lan so all we need is a way to ripp them out of the game files to be able to fit both files on the same disl

 

is this game not playable with swap magic atall has anoyone found a way to do it yet if anyone has i would be greatful for the help on how to do it

 

ive managed to get the game onto harddrive in ps2,using hdl dump,but for some damn reason the bits in the game where you have to interrogate ,doesnt work!the joypad will not respond!
ive no idea why and its pissing me off!

 

I followed "boobooman's instructions" and i made a backup of the original game onto two dvd5.All you have to do is use apache 2 to extract the layers of the dvd9.Then rebuild(as usuall) the first iso using all the system files and datafile 1 and the second iso using again the system files,but now the datafile 2 from the second layer.I finished the game in that way,but i must say that i have an infinity modchip not swap magik,so i don't know if this works in that case.When in the game you see a blue screen flashing it means put dvd2 in,if you see a red screen flashing it means put dvd1 into the ps2.In the middle of the game you will need to change dvd1 and dvd2 about 4-5 times.You see you may play a stage from dvd2 and the next stage will be on dvd1,but as the game passes you will need only dvd2 to finish it.

 

has amybody made the disc game up and tried with swap magic yet i have swap magic i was just wandered if it worked

 

for pal ver dvd9, extract layer0 the data to a folder,then extract the layer1 gamedata.2 into the same folder as gamedata.1
then use cdvdgen make the .iml and ims file,then use the iml2iso tool make the dvd5 iso image,it should fit for dvd5.

24 game,dont use for rebuild the iso,if you rebuild the layer1 iso only the data file ,the game wont work without the elf file,only like mgs2(have elf,irx,datafile....etc) i think you can rebuild for 2nd disc iso

i have already tried building the game in this way the cd dvd generator cant take all the files in if you put game data 1 and game data 2 files in it exceeds the max recording space the files are 2 big is there any other way of rebuilding this game or an update for cd dvd generator to make it take bigger files or maybe an update for the gnies expert tool v1.03 so it can read the 2 layers of the game instead of just one i would be greatful for some help on this
