Hi, a friend of mine has this mp3 player and seems pretty good but he's having a minor problem with it because it doesnt let him go over 18 songs into the mp3 player. Is it because the songs are too big or to lengthy? or maybe its something within the mp3 player that he's not doing right? 256mb is suppose to give at least 4 hours of play back but he can't get over 18 songs in that mp3 player. Everytime he try's to add another song it seems to delete the last one on the mp3. Has anybody experienced this problem with a mp3 player before? or is it that it just need more memory? thanx any help apreciated!

It depends on mp3 songs bitrate. If song is 128kbps bitrate then one minute of song is approximatelly 1MB. Which means 5 minutes song is 5 MB and around 51 songs is 256MB. If the song is 256kbps then it's 3MB per minute. That's around 18 songs on 256MB.

Other possibility is that mp3 player has damaged memory sectors so it's unable to fully utilize available memory.

    Are you sure thats right?

When I make an MP3 CD, I rip the songs at 192 and I usually get between 5 and 6 regular CD's one the one MP3 CD.

I typacally get between 80 to 120 songs on one MP3 CD
