...I've read that a 2MB buffer will be fine if you have a good computer. I have:
    Athlon 1Ghz
    384MB ram
    120GB HD
    running Windows XP

I was thinking of buyin the Pioneer DVR-106, but I don't know if the 2MB will be a problem. Any help will be appreciated. thanks.

Most people think that the bigger the buffer, the better. This is the case sometimes, but if your system can cope with 2MB as opposed to 8MB, then its fine. Pioneer have the recommended specs at 600MHz with 128MB RAM and higher

Sounds good then, I've gone ahead and placed my order for the DVR-106.
