This is unlockable correct I assume so.

 

Jailbreaking isn't the same as unlocking.

Unlocking depends on the baseband of your iphone. If you have only updated through pwnagetool and preserved your baseband, then yes you can unlock this.

If you updated to stock 3.1 or 3.1.2, or used blackra1n, then you also updated your baseband and you will not currently be able to unlock your iphone.

But yes, if you use pwnagetool for 3.1.2, you it will preserve your baseband (meaning if your phone was already unlocked, use this and it will be able to be unlocked again).

 

Awesome thanks! Now if I use one of the provide firmwares on that site I'm good to go cause as of now I'm using am unlocked 3.0. Sorry about the n00b questions I just don't want to screw myself. Thanks a million! Also to install one of those premade firmwares I do shift restore in Itunes correct.

 

Beware if u don't have an AT&T simcard ur screwed on activation

 

i have a ? i am on at&t i do not need to unlock i am currently at 3.1 jailbroke will this ipsw work for me will it activate?

 

also these do include cydia?

 

Yes it does and u can activate as far as I no as long as u have an AT&T simcard

hi, for some reason after i try to restore it again with the firmware i made. it keep saying error.

 

what firmware are u currently running and is it jailbroke

i am currently have firmware 3.1.2 iphone 3g and it is not jailbreak or unlocked yet. i got it off craiglist.

 

i have a pc, so idk if this method work for pc.

 

thats why man u need to be jailbroken at 3.01 to install the custom firmware

ooh i used my friend mac to try, but it doesn't work. so i was wondering is there a way for pc to do it too?

 

you have to downgrade and then jailbreak

check that link it is really easy after u r jailbroken at 3.01 u can do a restore thru itunes with the 3.1.2 custom fimware which u dont have to make just download it from this thread it worked fine for me also are u an att subscriber
