The last update for vobblanker was in early may, I remember that the beta updates were released every 1 to 2 weeks. now over 3 months and absolutely nothing, if vobblanker dies what can I clean/edit my dvd backups with? ripitforme is dead and so is fixvts, with the ever changing drm what other programs compare to vobblanker?
Well if VobBlanker dies then you will still have the current version because you have it on your computer now. I don't think there are any programs that compare to VobBlanker, because it's a great program and it's free. Stop complaining about no updates. I have never had any problems with the current version. Why don't you try to write a program as great as this one and not get compensated for it.
I haven't had any significant problems with the current version either, but it's becoming very apparent that the encryption from different studios is about to reach beyond the current versions capability’s. Fixvts is already outdated; all I wanted to know was if anyone else read a news article or new more about this. If I sounded ungrateful I apologize to those whose efforts we all benefit from. I know nothing about programming or writing/reading code. With all these programs going down in a couple of months the only option will be to backup the main movie on new releases, this worries me. I'm only trying to stay in the loop so I'm not backed into a corner with out any options.
The last version of Ripit4Me which was 1.7.1.0 had FixVTS built in, and it should work for any dvd's on the market today. I have never had a problem with it. I wouldn't be too worried about not being able to decrypt DVD's even if the industry comes up with a new way to try to take away our fair use rights. I don't know of any copy protection scheme to date that hasn't been broken. If man can make it, man can crack it.
