I am planning on getting the following parts for my PC:

    1) Intel Core i7 920 CPU
    2) Rampage II Extreme (X58 / Core i7 Processor Extreme Edition)
    3) EAH4870X2/HTDI/2G

Are the products above a good choice for gaming purposes? Also, can anybody give me information about the new i7 920 CPU? Thanks!

Also will the ASUS Rampage Extreme 2 support Hitachi 500 GB, DDR2 ram? I also know that only the i7 works on this motherboard.

The X58's only support DDR3 ram.

The i7s are rubbish for gaming, for how much they cost. In the games that matter, even the Q6600 beats the 920. I'd stick with a Core 2 Quad, like a Q9450 or Q9550, use a board like the Rampage Formula, and if you haven't already bought it, don't get a Hitachi HDD, they are not good.
