I want to get ps2(slim) and play ntsc games, I live in Europe so pal here here are the 3 methods I know: (prices are in euros) Please give/add Pros and Cons of each method, ============== Import: Transformer = 35-40 US PS2 New = 140-150 ---- 190 Con: ntsc capable tv /tv tuner needed no warranty - it's better to buy a new one then to send it back to the US Online gaming might not work cause it's the US version Pro: No mod chips or anything required ----------------------------------- Magic Swap+Slim Tools: 35-40 PAL PS2 New = 150 ---- 190 Con: might not work with some games might damage the console? Pro: colour system change? = no need for ntsc capable TV? no mod chips or anything else required ----------------------------------- ModChip: PS2 New Premodded with Matrix infinity = 265 Con: needs ntsc tv/tv tuner expensive no warranty(except for the seller) Pro: erm...?
here's some info for you. 1)If you had an NTSC console in the UK online would work but would lag (assuming it'll lag 'cause you're connecting to US servers) 2)as far as I know most tv units in europe support both PAL and NTSC. All you'd need to have NTSC signal display properly is an RGB or SCART (not sure which one but I remember it's one of those, they could even be the same thing) so if you ask me, I'd buy a premoded system that way you can play ntsc games as well as pal games and you won't need a transformer.
