hey i got a flashed 360 and i got the dreaded 3 red lights and i cannot return the 360 bck to the shop as its been over 12months , i have to now send to microsoft and i was wondering is there a way i can get caught ? , i dont know how to reflash as i got it done from someone please answer my question thanks
Send it, the most they can do is refuse to fix it. But from what i have heard they don't look too hard into it.
I have the same problem. I got a rair number from M$ to return it. They told me that if the box seal was removed they would send it back without repair. I did not tell them that my box has been modded to play backups. I am hoping that when they see my box, they will call me to tell that the seal was removed and that it is not under warrenty and that they will charge me for the repairs instead. They told me that unwarrenty repairs cost $99 USD. I am hoping that they don't look into my DVD drive for firmware modification and denigh me repair. I was also contemplating repairing it myself like the tutorials show for fixing the x-clap method. Some say after you remove the x-clap and insert your new screws that you tighten them tight and others say to tighten them snug and when the baking process happens the sodder can flow evenly. Has anybody have any better insight on this?
I sent in my modded xbox due to the 3 red lights and two weeks later I received a working xbox. So if you ask me they don't look very hard. I did the same thing with my ps2 a couple of years ago when the laser died on it. Received a new one a few weeks later.
my freind just got his back from ms and his was flashed, only thing was he got a nice benq drive in it
I tried doing the x-clamp repair so now I don't have my x-clamps and I have a flashed DVD drive that I will be sending back to M$. I hope they don't deny me repair.
call 1-800-4MY-XBOX and their is a speaker phone that answers, it will ask what you want to know "XBL, Repairs, etc. Say repairs than it will ask orginal xbox or 360 say Xbox 360 and than so on from there it is very simple, just listen and eventually you will talk to real people about it and they will ask for a serial number than they will send you a box to put your 360 in than send that back to them than they will send your new 360 to you, that simple
I sent my first 360 back to Microsoft about 8 month ago, before they give the consoles a 3-year warrenty here in the UK. When I called them I explained that I had quite good knowledge in electronics and that I had tried to repair the console myself with small success - I'd had a go for about 5 minutes but it was really opened to flash the drive. So, a couple of days past and my box come, I packaged it up and sent it away. A couple of weeks past and I had heard nothing until I recieved a package one morning, it was my 360, fixed and all working fine with a new warrenty sticker on (the big one). After hooking it back up I popped in a game I had burned just before it broke thinking there was no way that it would work - a few seconds past and the game loaded. MS had not only fixed my console but the drive I got back was my original flashed MS25 to my suprise. So I just say - send it off, see what happens.
are you posters from usa?? wonder if anyone from uk has sent theirs back and recieved a repair,,,,,,,,,,our has gone,, and flashed or not,,, it shouldnt have broken after 8 paltry months,,if the bit that gets flashed breaks then fair enough, but if they are breaking the same way flashed or not, then they all should be fixed.
Are you guys serious about 18004myxbox? Do they actually repair for free in the United States? It is hard to believe you get something for free in this country. Let me know ASAP. I have a modded 360 with the same problem.
yeah, I had just sent mine in about 2 weeks ago yesterday. And I just got my xbox back yesterday from microsoft. I had flashed the drive previously, and was afraid they would notice, but they didn't. SO it is all working again. 18004myxbox I believe is microsoft's number to get it fixed, so that's why it's free. so send it in, like it was said, what's the worst that would/could happen? they just send it back
They sent me a different console, so I had to open it up and mod the drive. And it was a different kind of drive than the original. One was Hitachi and the other was Samsung drive. Did they send you the same console repaired?
