So this console was overheating(2 rr) so i applied the x clamp fix. I tightened the screws too much apparently because it gave me an instant 3 rrod. So then i loosened them and it powered on for about 5 seconds and then it gave me the 3 rrod. What did i do wrong?

Sounds to me like you've over tightened the screws when doing the xclamp fix to me :D

Might as well re-do the fix, and Xclamp the GPU while you're at it.

Did you let it bake for a while?

no, the console was just giving me the 2 ring error, not the 3 ring. And i reapplied thermal compound and it still overheated. So i did the xclamp fix.

He asked if you let it bake (I'm assuming)because you may need to reflow the solder joints. take it apart and pull the fans. let it overheat and then press down on the heatsyncs hard. should be ok after cool down. Still not working? use the pennies trick. works pretty good.

the console never had the three ring of death. It only gave me the 2 ring.then after i did the x clamp fix to allow for more heat to be conducted to the -----heatsinks---- so it wouldnt over heat it gave me an instant three ring of death. Then i loosened the screws and the console turned on for a few seconds and then gave me the three ring.

you might need to bake it as said, and play with the screws, if you are getting a good turn on for five seconds you are close to home plate.

this sounds exactly like the 1 i had the other month.
it was doing exactly the same as your but when it overheats have you checked for the error code?
Mine was telleing me the ram was overheating however according to my thermal prope it was at 40 degress so it wasn't overheating !! The console was lying. So what i did was a reflow using a heat gun lots of careful work lots of modelputty to keep the heat away from the caps. Thermal prope in the left hand heated the chips to 250 degree each 1. let the console mobo cool down then do the ram chips on the other side. All is working now 2 months later still no problems. Get the code when it overheats so you know what the problem is.
