i think the recommned was a 350watt for this card but would a 300 watt run it? also do i need the cord that suppose to come with it? since if i buy a Open Boxed version from newegg it only have just the card. Also what would it do if it couldnt run it? could it mess the pc up? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102688R
that card, along with everything else you're going to run, is going to require more juice than 300 watts. it's really just not going to work well. you can get a good 500 watt psu for not too much these days, and i recommend it.
honestly, i don't know. it depends how many fans, hard drives, disc drives, peripherals, etc you have hooked up. i wouldn't risk it; if your power source goes, it can take out everything with it.
im not completly sure its a 300 watt since i havent traded for the pc yet. Im getting the HP a1510n and i cant find its power supply spec anywhere but im kinda guessing its 300 watt. I always thought it would just reset the pc if it ran out of power. Maybe theres a cheaper but good card i should but that will run without spend a ton. -_-
heres the exact card im buying http://www.directron.com/sax850xt.html donno if the specs requirments are right but it says... System Requirements: 300-Watt power supply or higher recommended, Intel Pentium 4 / AMD Athlon or higher CPU, one available PCI-Express x16 slot, one power extension cable, 128MB system memory, CD-ROM drive. I know your prob right but i just wanna be able to use it with what i have. Also the pc im getting has 1 200gb HDD, 1 dvd+rw drive. and a usb card reader which i think it ran off inside usb? it has 2 stick of ram in it i plan to stick 1 more stick to make it 1.5g ram. Im not a HUGE pc game player i just wanna play some of my online mmorpg games online without it looking like crap lol.
dude, you're a senior member. you should know by now to just go edit your last post instead of create a new post 5 minutes later. you can try it. if it works, good. if not, you know the weak link in the chain. you should be all right, i think, but the psu needs to be the next upgrade you make.
sorry im just parinoid so im really wanting to know it il blow my pc or not haha But will i need the power cord for the GPU? the open box one doesnt come with one. if so could you link me to a cheap cord on neweggs so i could buy it with it?

maybe this card is to much for what i need. Can anyone show me a good card that will run on a 300 watt? im looking for something that as good as a geforce 6800 i really dont have the cash for alot of upgrades just a gpu.
would this be my better bet? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131007 anyone know how good this card is?
