Have 30GB Ipod & am at wits end. when clicked on i get the apple logo and this then jumps to a folder and warning icon saying www.apple.co./support/ipod. When i look on the page there is nothing to cure my sysmptoms. I have tried resetting but to no avail. When i disconnect and reconnect it tells me i am corrupt. Any ideas
well you already try everything, is probably hard drive error, try looking at the apples help forums and see what you can find, Good Luck
support this should help click on what ipod you have and scroll near the bottom there should be some icons one of them should resemble what is on your screen, click on it and there should be some possible resolutions. Hope this helps.
Thanks guy's. Have looked all through apples help pages but no joy. When i try to restore the green line goes across once and then freezes. The ipod gives a tiny click and a whine, almost as if a hard disk is winding down and later the message appeas on the screen saying: the ipod could not be restored, an unknown error occured (1418) is the 1418 significant ?
umm, im not sure try googleing it what does the icon that is on your ipod look like? from what you said earlier i think it is this one i found how to fix it just google ipod error 1418 it is the first one. it is on podtropolis i think i hope this helps
Thanks for that, sorry i have not been on to reply sooner, i was distracted by this christmas thinggy. I have been to the page as instructed, saved to favorites and will give it a go tomorrow when head fresh. Fingers crossed
Tried that fix, all as stated on Podtropolis until step 9 when i try to restore. The green progress bar starts to move accross & then freezes, 3 mins later we get a pop up message reading: The Ipod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (1418) Any other ideas, apart from the sledghammer ?
