Hey guys, I have an ASUS P4S333 motherboard from maybe 4 years ago, and I just recently bought a 320GB Seagate IDE hard drive. The problem is, it only recognizes it as 127gb, leaving almost 200 gb of unused space! Does anyone know how to get around this? I have Windows XP SP-2, and I have the latest BIOS for my motherboard (though the last revision was August 9, 2002), so I'm not sure what to do. Does anyone know if it would work if I took the hard drive and formatted it at my friend's place (a new PC), and put it back in my PC?
Just an idea have you checked your jumper settings. For example my IDE 160gb drive had a jumper setting to be 80gb... Just an idea! Lecsiy
Kool, just thought id mention that i had a problem similar! Very annoying it was a misplaced jumper! Damn little things!
