I have a Cingular 3220b with IMEI: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I'm trying to use codes I generated with Cyber's code calculator and online at the DCT4 code generator. None of these is working. I have a SIM from a non Cingular network and it says Phone restricted when I put it in. I try the codes but they all simply say "Phone Restricted" after I enter them... can someone help me? Do I need a data cable? Will a USB data cable work? Thanks!

Enter without the sim and see what happens. If nothing, insert the non accepted sim, press "undo", enter code in the restriction box and press enter. Let me know what message you get.

I get a beep and "Phone Restricted" when I enter than code. That's the same thing I've gotten when I tried a couple of codes from the net.

My guess would be that too many codes have been entered and it has been hardlocked. If someone other than you has had the phone, it's possible they tried to unlock it also. I don't know the history on the phone but it looks to be hardlocked.

Can I unlock it with a USB data cable if it's been "hardlocked"?

Is there recommended software to use?

It would have to be unlocked by a professional with a DCT 4 clip that directly connects to the phone. This usually runs about $20.00 to $30.00 and the clip runs about $400.00 so I would have it done. You may have someone local that can do this at a privately owned electronics repair shop or try www.iunlock.com and you can send it in and have it back usually within 6 days total. Check for someone local first for quickness and lower price. Only DCT 3 type phones can be unlocked with software and cable such as the 3390, 3360, the older phones. Yours is DCT 4

Guess this ones going back to the store. Thanks for the info. I got this one yesterday at a Cingular store. I'll have it back on Monday.
