Just a thought,

Will it ever be possible to burn a Wave4 or Wave5 game without having to update the firmware from 1.6 to say 1.7 or LT. Or will I always have to use activation disc assuming I dont downgrade the games wave in the ISO?

Regular updating of firmwares to keep up with new wave versions is gonna be a pain, any future possibility of updating the firmware via a update disc, like you have on the Wii??

 

LT is your best bet as there is no wave checks on it.

 

Worked liked a charmed on COD MW2, I've seen in this thread it works for Left for Dead 2, I soon will find out.

 

Im pretty sure i have 1.5 Can you play wave 3 and up games with 1.6/ Because i cant only wave 1 and 2.

I might have ran it thru abgx, ima try again with bioshock 2 and this time im using ppf o matic with 14-15ppf, so ill come back with the update.

I have dragon origins and a benq with non stealth 1.4v2.

The game boots ok but the audio will stuter and lag a lot, is this a wave 4 problem or it is a different problem?

I also have mas effect 2 and it boots ok, and so far havent seen any audio problem.

Any ideas?

 

sicdude i need some help.
I have ixtreme 1.6 and have made 18 sucessful back-ups...wave 1,2,3,and 4 (launching with boot iso) and haven't had a problem till now. Last game i done was codmw2 and it was wave four, i downloaded the video file for wave 4 (for agbx) and it stealthed it fine but it wouldn't launch..thats when i got my boot disc and booted it that way with no problems.
Now its a couple months later and i am trying mass effect 2.
I have read all 17 pages in this thread and some of my questions were partial answered but no succsess on getting it to play after burning.

My method that has always worked for me is
1. use the hotswap method to get a good game iso.
2. run it thur agbx and stealth always passes.
3. burn with imgburn(.dvd file)
This always worked other than when wave 4 came about and i had to get wave 4 video for agbx, and then agbx stealthed it and all has been good.

Now i tried same method with mass effect 2 and agbx says its wave four but that i don't have the video to stealth it....so i came here and have read for two days and understand i have to wave patch the wave 5 and 6 games to get them to work on my 1.6 console.

So i tried to wave patch to a lower wave, but with agbx saying the raw iso is already 4 i can't tell weather is patching it or not.
When i run it back through wave patcher is says the iso is the new wave but agbx says its still 4 and after reading in the forms it is acually wave 6.
And there are multiple responses to the order you should go with....
do you run the raw iso through wave patcher first then agbx?
Or vice versa?
I have tried both.
And if you dont go thru agbx at all how do you get your .dvd file for buring.

O yea i have the latest dash and this is a banned 1.6 console so i care nothing about online on that console.

 

Run it through abgx just to make sure the iso is ok ( and to create the .dvd file )
Now run it through waves patcher, if you're on 1.6 then patch it to wave 3 now it will boot without the activate.iso (swap disc)

I know my dash is updated cause codmw2 works fine.
So i'm lost i can't see why its not workin.
Any other suggestions??

And does it matter that when i run it through agbx(the first time)
it says its wave 4 and doesn't pass??

 

Hi emg44tmg just want to know some details i dont use agbx so i cant say much about it.
After u chk the iso in agbx and when u confirm its a good one and u load the iso onto Wave Patcher. There's a text box "Current Wave" it should show as Wave4. And once you patch to Wave 3 it should as "Wave 3". I dont know whether it showed u Wave 3. If not i think you are missing the Wave Files.
And i say its always best to patch the iso to Wave 2 as thankfully till date i havent encountered any problems.

Yeah make sure you download the wave files at the bottom of the app, or the app won't have anything to patch the iso with.

 

Anyone else finds that wave patched games no longer install to HDD?
They play just fine, but when installing to HDD you get "dirty disc" error at the end of install.

At least when patching to wave2.

Any ideas how to bypass this? Other than renting the original from blockbuster lol. to install

 

I have converted a Wave 4 game (MLB2k10) to Wave 3 and it finally recognizes the game, however it says I need apply a console update in order to play the game.

I have also tried converting to Wave 2 which results in the white screen with the message "to play this game insert it into an xbox", and when I burn the Wave 4, it reads the disk as a DVD.

My console has been offline since early September '09 and I have the new dashboard update with the Avatar. I tried downloading the newest system update zip file from xbox.com unzipping and copying it to a flash drive but it doesn't do anything upon startup.

Can anyone please offer some advice? I'm dying to play this new game!

Hi bk13 first thing you need to check is the Dashboard version. it should be "2.0.8955.0".You can find the Vesrion Number in MyXbox->Settings->Console Settings->System Info. You can find the image below.

If this is not the version on your xbox.
Then you need to copy the folder "$SystemUpdate" on to the USB. Remember that you should copy the folder not its contents. If this step has been performed. Then the other way is
on your Wave4 original DVD you can find a folder "$SystemUpdate". Copy that to your USB and try. I hope this shud work as after you have converted to Wave3 its asking for Update Loop.

hello i dont know what version of firmware i have i know its modded anyways i use the active iso disc wave 4 and i was just wondering with this program if i just set all the waves to wave 1 will it work no matter what firmware i have?

 

Hi zachlds might be you are having iX1.6 as you are using activation disc for Wave4 games. And my suggestion would be patch to Wave2 rather than Wave1.

 

Hey guys -- HELP needed please, kinda going crazy over here...

I have a modded Xbox without a HDD that was BANNED back in October. I wish to play some Wave 4/5/6 copies. I'm on iXtreme 1.5 I believe.

Everytime I burn game I used w/ WavesPatcher it just says PLAY DVD inside of the Xbox.

I only have changed to Wave 2 - and have tried multiple games. I thought maybe I needed the system update, but I tried using a flash drive to install it and it doesn't do anything when inserted into the system.

Any help? Thanks soooo much.

 

Hi redsrule i think you havent downloded the Wavefiles for Wave2. Once check whether the folder "WavesData" is present where you have installed it and inside the folder "Wave2" data must be there. If not you can download it from the software. At the bottom you can find "Click here to download Wave2" and click download. Also after you patch an iso to Wave2 make sure the "Current wave" text box is showing "Wave2". And this is not the SystemUpdate problem. As the DVD is not recognised as a game DVD so we get that message. For SystemUpdate you can check my earlier reply to bk13.

Hey sickdude, i tried burning bioshock 2 with pfomatic with 14-15 file and it didnt work. It says play dvd. I updated the xbox with a flash drive so its up to date. Really doubt this will work for me. Any suggestions?
