360 waves patcher "wave converter for all firmwares"

The only thing i can suggest is try and rent l4d2 and see if the original disk asks you to update

 

I'm not sure I understand the whole Wave thing. I assume when a new wave comes out it means a new change to the X360 OS which detects firmware mods?

I could play Forza 3 after updating my firmware but Left 4 Dead 2 will not work. I tried Forza 3 again and now that does not work. I tried running the L4D2 iso thru ABGX360, adding the patch files for PFI & Video, but when it completed, the original ISO was not changed. I don't understand what is supposed to happen at the end?

Do I need to get my firmware reflashed again?

How do I check what version firmware I have in my BenQ drive?

Slight update, patched Assassin's Creed 2 to wave 3, and i've just done Left4Dead 2, both working fine

hi everyone i have insatlled the patcher on my pc, my xbox 360 has a hitachi 079fl patched to 1.5 i think, i patched boarderlands to wave 2 and it booted ok clicked start and the game just locked up anybody else had the same problems, cant for the life of me repatch my firmware, tried everything, bought a ck3 lite a via vt6421 card removed drivers and the pc still locks up on boot up, any clues plz

 

Hi I am new to this forum and of course have a question should anyone be able to answer. I have read all the post in this thread and haven't seen the question. Say someone is using IXtreme 1.41 and patches the wave 4 to wave 2 file. According to this forum you should also update your xbox to the latest console. Now If you update the XBox to the latest console will all the games previously burned for IXtreme 1.41 still work with the new console update??? thats the million dollar question before Updateing I will hopefully get a response.
In other words My friend has 80 or so disc that work on Ixtreme 1.41 and he wants to know if updating the console will make all those dual layer disc he's burned over the years trash. Can anyone answer.. thanks in advance TIA.. don't worry be happy

I would just like to thank to everyone in this topic.
I have ixtreme 1.50 and I converted Fallout 3 GOTY and Tekken 6 successfully from wave 4 to wave 2. And I'm playing right now.
Here is how I did:

1. I updated my XBOX dashboard to the latest version
2. I used ABGX360 on the ISO with autofix level 3
3. I used the 360 Wave Patcher to convert the ISO to wave 2
4. I burned the ISO using CloneCD at 2-2.4 speed

And voilá!

I really need help on this, i got 3 backups MW2, Assasins creed 2, and left for dead 2, when i got them i tried playing them on my xbox that has ixtreme 1.5 on it since their wave 4 i got the play dvd then xbox 360 screen, so i looked on here and saw i needed to reflash my xbox to 1.6 and use some kind of boot disc, i can't remod my console too much hassle and would hve to buy a new chipset to hook it up to my PC, then go through jungleflasher crashing my PC thats fun. So i spotted this thread and read all of it and it seemed like the perfect solution to not have to reflash my xbox to play these games, i downloaded everything did everything exactly but no luck, just a mixed media disk or disc is dirty errors on all 3.


I spent like an hour trying to update the xbox 360 system through a USB stick only to find out that it was already updated to 8955, checked in system settings-console settings, thats why it didn't respond to the USB stick.

what i did:

1.I got the backups (burned on Verbatims) and extracted the image from them using Alcohol 120%

2.I took the iso's it made and passed them through the wave patcher made them into wave 2's there where no handups or errors whatsoever, then the isos showed up as wave 2's on the patcher instead of wave 4 like before so i thought it worked well.

3. I used image burn to burn the iso onto dual layer Verbatim discs at 2.4x speed, on MW2 it seemed to load up to play game on the dashboard but no logo came out i pressed A then got black screen like it was starting then the dirty disc error everytime. The other two i got mixed media disc error.

Have no idea what im doing wrong in the burn or if the backups weren't good to begin with......? Or am i just going to have to flash it to 1.6 and use the boot disc......

I have spent the last 3 hours making coasters and extracting this crap over and over really frustrating, if any body could help would be really appreciated. Also my xbox is banned from live got banned Nov.6th.

 

Hey everyone. Got a question. I want to patch cod mw2 from wave 4 to wave 2. When i run the iso with abgx do i need check the "Check/Fix Video Padding" and "Adjust SS v1 angle 359 for iXtreme < 1.4" marks ? thanx

 

im having the same problem as one of the posters above.....tried metallica guitar hero, patched to wave 2, updated dashboard but when i put the disc in, i get a message bout needing an update, then i get the "the disc is dirty or damaged" message. any ideas folks? cheers

hehe yes really, how did you get it to work, don't keep it to yourself cause I believe a bunch of people are facing this same problem.

with me it was almost to the point of madness , I even formatted the HDD without presuming obviously the dashboard data would not be "formatted", lost 11.000 gamerpoints and all saves, and became a little less stupid and stubborn in the process.

Anyway, as for the disk that keeps asking for updates (and please don't try and do the update through the disc, it won't work and you could get your avatar erased for life, like it happened to me), if you're not on live just plug the internet cable in the back of your xbox, go to the settings and hit the "test connection" (or something like that) option, it'll start to test your connectivity to the internet, and when it's done without the need to create a live account or anything (I never been to the xbox live before) it'll just ask to do an update and there you go, your problems will be solved THAT update will work and hopefully no more disks asking for updates.

The thing is I believe the waves patched doesn't work as perfectly as I thought, modern warfare 2 worked perfect, same thing goes for SAW, Wolfenstein and Wanted... the games I've tried... but Left 4 Dead first asked for an update, followed by disk error... the classic combination, but now that the update thing is solved it's still giving me the disk error at some point, same thing for assassin's creed 2 and need for speed shift, so right now I'm just waiting for the new firmware so I can just breeze through the waves changes and don't need to patch anything... by the way I seem to read more about problems patching to wave 2 (my case) then to wave 3! so, that could be it, or it just doesn't work everytime, what can you do, or maybe the isos...anyway, for now I'm happy I solved the diabolic update thing and will just wait for the LT firmware.

Sorry for the overlong message but since I was having so much trouble with these issues I just wanted to share my opinions/solutions... I'd still give it a try on patching one game, just to try it out, other than l4d2 cause that one the day it works for me I'll be a happy puppy, I'm traumatized.

 

well, my xbox is banned so i believe i cant update by the way you're telling, with the internet cable... i tried with pen drives and dvd, i got no action, so finnaly i thought maybe i already had the last version cuz my xbox just got banned since 1 month ago, by that time i guess i had the last update of the dashboard dont i? its the 2.0.8955.0, is this the last? cumps

 

that's the tricky part, before my patching frenzy I also had the newest updates, turns out trying out left 4 dead 2 bugged my updates and my avatar, I tried a pen drive and disc, nothing happened, xbox read the discs as mixed media disc and that's all... after I came to the point of formatting I just went nuts and said what the heck, let's try and stick this damn cable and see what happens, maybe I can sneak in get the update and then be gone before I'm "noticed", well I just plugged the cable, tested the connection and it started updating, before I couldn't even customize my avatar, I'd be asked to update before it... it was really bugged the damn box, plugging the internet cable just solve everything, got my updates fine and dandy and my avatar works again, I don't even mind the zeroed gamerscore anymore.

 

Meh i guess ill need to flash it to 1.6 and use the boot disc or wait for the latest extreme firmware in the end can't get these copies to work, where is sicdude? he started the thread didn't get a reply from him about my problem..... oh well.

 

Try using imgburn to rip the discs or redownload them.
