    Larry,

After installing cIOS38 Rev 14, can I install Hermes 222/223? if yes, what IOS to chose from install since Cios38 uses 249

I know you dont have instructions on installing hermes but i would recomend it since its need it to play SSBB and 99% of people play it

It isn't in the guide and if I have time I might add it but as of now do a Google search on how to install it.

Do the DOWNGRADE IOS15/PATCH IOS36/RESTORE IOS15 again and make sure you do not miss a step and you don't get any error messages. Then try installing cIOS38_rev14 again.

Alright, I redid the downgrade/patch/restore again and got no errors. I installed cIOS38-rev14 again and it still gives me the error (1035)

Does it do this when booting NeoGamma R7 or does it load Neogamma R7 then go to black screen when booting the game?[/quote]

It does it when i load Neogamma R7. Neogamma shows up in the channels when i turn on the wii, when i click on it and then click start, right away, my wiimote turns off and the screen turns black. I never even hear the disk turn. I've also now tried gecko os with the same result.

    thanks

Did you have a previous softmod installed? A cios? What firmware are you on?

Have no idea what to tell you. If you followed it properly it should work.

    What firmware are you on?

There is nothing to uninstall since you can't get the cIOS installed. I don't know what else to tell you. You shouldn't have any issue using this guide if you follow the directions properly.

This error is usually due to the IOS your trying to install the cIOS with (IOS36 in this case) is not patched properly.

Are you sure your selecting IOS36 as the IOS to run the cIOS installer with (you need to make sure you select IOS36 as the IOS to use to run the instaler)?

Larry, in light of the bloody 4.2 update I now have a different situation with updating a friends 3.4 softmodded Wii.
What I have: A softmodded (Zelda method) Wii 3.4U.
I want to update this mod by using your guide.
Can you please tell me at which part of the guide I need to start from?

    Thanks

    Start at the cIOS38_rev14 section.

If you want to update/install the Homebrew Channel/Bootmii/DVDx then follow that section as well. Since it is softmoded already you don't have to do the Downgrade IOS15/Patch IOS60/Restore IOS15 section of the guide.

For some reason half way through this the wii went back to the homebrew channel like it was supposed to and the screen was upside down. Everything is normal but in the homebrew channel the screen is upside down for some reason. Did this happen anyone else?

This is covered in the HBC/Bootmii section of the guide. Read it again.

Well it looks like I messed up the order. Instead of waiting for your reply I went ahead and installed the neogamma wad and started at dopios. About halfway through I noticed your reply about doing the CIOS rev14 update first. I then went and tried to do this step but get an error at the end
"Installing custom IOS, please wait.... Install ERROR! (ret = 2011)
Then next line says FInishing installation, please wait....ok!
    Press any button to restart.

Now when I load up Neogamma it says I have rev 10 and states I may have problems since it was written for rev 14.

I tried to install from wad and network...both get the error!

Anyway to fix this Larry? Sorry for not waiting.

Do you have IOS38-64-v3610.wad at the root of your SD card like the SD Preparation tells you? As well try using IOS249 instead of IOS36 when running the cIOS38_rev14 installer.

Yes! Your a lifesaver Larry. Everything working as it should. The IOS249 did the trick.
