First i would like to say HI :) and thx for a great forum :)

i am following the guide here but i seem to have a problem here
Launch the HBC and load the cIOS 222 installer.
Select IOS249 to perform the install
This time select Custom IOS 223 and select IOS38 merged with IOS60.
Make sure you get installation complete. If you do not and get an error then rerun this step again.

i only have the options as follows
    USE IOS 38
USE IOS 38 MERGED WITH IOS37
USE IOS 38 MERGED WITH IOS68

Can i just start again? or do i run the risk of bricking my wii?

    any ideas??? thx in advance

I would like to thank Larry for this fine guide. Writing how-to's is not fun and it takes a lot of work, most of which isn't thanked.

I had a 4.2 system that I modded without incident and it's playing games like a champ. I haven't got it to play PAL games yet, but I see in the thread, some options to try and I'm not going to bother anyone with what is most likely my failure to adjust the loader.

All I know is that I was able to play a backup NTSC discs and I couldn't be happier!

Thanks again Larry for the hard work, the long hours and all your follow up on the board. You're a good egg!

Just like to say thank you very much for a very clear and concise tutorial. I just upgraded my virgin 3.1 to a 4.2 softmod. Very happy indeed with results.

Those of you saying you don't have an option to backup NAND. If you have Bootmii installed then you have an option to backup the NAND! Follow the Bootmii section of the guide. Everything you need to know is there in it! READ!!!!!

Those that are asking if you have to run DOP-IOS. I would suggest running it. This will install the newest revision IOS's and install IOS that you may not have. This should avoid most update propts and black screens when attempting to start a game.

The section wouldn't be in the guide if I felt it wasn't a necessary step to softmodding.

I've followed the guide to the T, and did not get a single error. But Neogamma is not loading any backups i have.. I keep on getting the "DVD Error 1101". I've tried burning the backups in -R x4, then x2 but no luck. I tried using +R again x4, then x2 but still no luck.

I also tried loading the backups with the Uloader but still thesame thing happens.

I have my Wii since 2008 so from what i've read, i should have the older drives.

I supposed i can try running it from my thumbdrive, but my problem is the file is compressed in .daa format does anyone knows if this is supported at all?

    Thanks in Advance.

The .daa is a power ISO image file. Use this guide HERE to convert it to an ISO file. From there you should beable to do more with it.

Has this been the only game you have tired burning?

Have you tried burning other ISO games (that where not .daa files)?

    Has anything worked?

I have the same issue. My pc burns them wrong I guess. My friends PC burned the exact sam ISO i have and his copies work. Its just the way my PC burns the disk I guess. Sucks but a HDD is a better option anyway.

    EVERYONE CAN BACKUP NAND!

    Read the F-IN guide PEOPLE!

If you can't install Bootmii to Boot2 then install it as an IOS.
As well the directions to backup NAND is given for both Bootmii installed as Boot2 and those that had to install it as an IOS!

I don't care if I sound rude or not. But newb or not you should be able to read a guide and follow it!

Kind of hard to help with a vague message like that. We have no idea what your doing or what the # say. If you follow the guide properly then it should work. If you have errors then try redownloading the WAD files again using NUS. if you still have issues try using a different SD card.

    Hi Larry,

In the part where you say:

"ALL SYSTEMS/SERIAL # CAN USE DOP-IOS. THOSE WITH LU64, LEH250 OR LAH113 AND ABOVE CAN USE THIS APPLICATION. DO NOT DOWNGRADE ANY IOS OR FIRMWARE. INSTALL & PATCH THE LATEST IOS REVISION AVAILABLE INSTEAD OF DOWNGRADING TO A LOWER REVISION. DOWNGRADING TO A LOWER REVISION MAY BRICK YOUR SYSTEM!"

The next two wiis i'm attempting are leh183 and leh153.
Am I correct in saying that that these are below leh250 and so I can still follow your DOP-IOS guide exactly to the letter???

    Also....
I have successfully done my own Wii but now need to install Priiloader as was unable to do Boot2. I've read somewhere that I shouldn't do this as I've modified some ios (just the ones in your instructions).
    Can I safely install priiloader?

Sorry if these are stupid questions but it's one thing to brick my own Wii but another to brick someone elses.

    Thanks
