i've downloaded the software for the so-called large movies. i've followed the instructions and directions BUT the can't get the movie to burn. A notice comes up on the screen saying the the movie is too big for the disc. the disc is a 2 hr.= the movie is 4 hr. so what do i do now HELPPPPPPPPPP! i really don't want to earse the movie.
Dvd shrink It'll take those dvd-9 originals-the big ones, and compress them to fit onto a blank single layer dvd-5 disc.Dvd shrink does the ripping and compressing, and you'll need a burn engine: Nero6 -oem disc works great if you have 1. Dvd decrypter - free ImgBurn - free Copytodvd If set up right, they can even autoburn for you without opening up those burn programs separate. I prefer dvd shrink and autoburning with nero. Here's a guide: http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/how_to_copy_dvd_with_dvd_shrink.cfm Arniebear and bbmayo also have some great guides. http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html Dvd shrink is free, but hasn't been updated for a couple years. Still a good program, just can't rip the newer sony and columbia releases from the last couple years. In that case, there's other programs that can help shrink rip those pesky encryptions: Anydvd by slysoft 3 hrs and 20 mins is the longest flick I've backed up using blank dvd-5 media. When you open up dvd shrink and see a red bar, you'll have to re-author. Another option, being a 4 hr flick, use a dual layer blank. Then rip with dvd decrypter using Mode ISO read and burn with ImgBurn. Very effective for non compressed backups.
