Successfully using Nero 6.6.015 for a couple of years, and from what I read on AD, am sticking with it. Thanks in advance for any assistance with the following:

    1. I have never used Chapter menus before, only Main and Title. What is the difference between Chapter and Title? Are there any pros to using Chapter menus? Anything I am missing by not using them?

    2. Is it possible to successfully use multiple main menus with Nero 6? I tried it once. After the burn, I tried the disk in my DVD player. Using the DVD player's remote, I could get it to advance from the 1st main menu to the 2nd main menu, but I could never get it to go back to the 1st main menu from the 2nd. It did have the < indicator on the screen, but no button on the remote (I tried them all) would ever access or highlight that indicator.

    3. Am I correct in thinking that no matter how much I merge titles, there will always be a 1GB limit, and when it reaches that limit during playback, there will be a slight burp as the DVD player goes to and starts playing the next title? I seem to notice this the most when that limit is reached in the middle of a performance, and have noticed that the DVD player counter resets to 00000 at this burp. Am I doing something wrong, or is there a way to have a DL with 7GB+ play seamlessly?

    4. I think I saved the best for last. I have purchased five DVD music videos. I've already ripped them to my hard drive. I then took each rip, and cut them into individual song performances. I want to burn my favorite song performances to a DVD, but the menu is giving me the problem as I just can't seem to figure out how to do it.

From the menu(s), I want to be able to:

Select one specific song performance and watch that, with it jumping back to the menu after playing,

    AND

Have an additional menu option that, when selected, will play all song performances first to last with no further selection required - in other words, watch the entire DVD.

If it makes any difference, I never, ever, reduce the quality on anything I burn. If it takes a DL, so be it. Just a quirk of mine I guess.

    Am I asking too much?

    Thanks!

    3. There will have to be a very slight pause when going from title to title, as the player reads and realigns itself. I've never heard of, or experienced anything to do with a 1GB limit.
Kind of. There has to be a layer break somewhere. Depending on where, and your player, it may be noticeable. Again the player has to adjust.
    Can't be done.

Do note that things have improved since version 6. I use and like Nero 7. But the above will not work in Nero 7 either.

If your sources are DVD compliant maybe one of the freeware authoring apps will do what you want.

    MysticE,

    Thanks for your reply.

    3. That solves my question about the burp between titles. I think titles (VOBs?)are limited to around 1GB. I don't know if that's a Nero or a DVD file structure limitation.

    4. The only way I've come up with to make this happen, is to put the performances on there twice - once individually, then again with all of them heaped into one video file for my Play All selection, but that would be such a waste of disc space. I know it can be done because the original DVD first brings you to a menu. From that menu, you can select Play All, or the other option, individual performances. If Play All is selected, then it proceeds to do so. If individual perfomances is selected, it then takes you to yet another menu that lists all the individual performances and you select which one you want to watch. And the performances aren't on there twice. Maybe it can't be done with Nero, but it can be done.

Thanks for the links. I did check out each one.

Again, I appreciate your willingness to assist.
