im in the uk and all the freeview channels r in the basic nthell package altho mite b different in ireland
If your paying for basic analogue you could just plug it straight into your tv and you'll get those channels anyway. If your paying for basic digital package your box is just acting as a standard yewPC digital box. Unless you update the firmware which I'm not aware if there is one for that make. It will also just be temporary if you do manage to patch it as I'm sure your aware of the change-over which is being mentioned all over the forums.
the 42LG3000 is a TV with a freeview tuner designed for the uk using an mpeg2 decoder, what you have is the basic ntl channels analogue , you will not receive the Irish freeview DTT when launch as this uses mpeg4. you will need either a decoder box or an mpeg 4 cam for this.
