    couple of quick ?'s
    -what format does the ide hdd need to be for the ps2 to recognize it?
    -do the older network adapters "not like" some hard drives?

    search "PS2 Hard drive compatibilty" in a search engine, there are charts that tell you which are best compatible.

    And PS2 like a PC has it's own format that it needs to be in, so after you get it you just use a program to format it.

    yea...the x-spec chart made it look like the one i got will work but it doesnt. my v7 cant read the hdd i got. but i did find a brand new ps2 hdd w/ ffxi(sitting in the back for a year or two) at a local gamestop.
