4CC codec : Codec not installed

    I installed GSpot, & loaded file. message: GSpot unable to find suitable codec installed. Likely to not work in O/S. Video:
    4CC codec: xvid. Name: Xvid. I Do not understand, which Codec do I need to install? Do I need more softwares?? Read about FFDShow decoder filter, version/alpha, will this help?, Need to disable divx 3,4,5?. I have Win. XP, Divix Player 2.1.

    You can either install an xvid codec or the ffdshow decoding filter. Id go for ffdshow.
    You dont need to disable anything, unless you want your divx movies to be decoded by the divx codec in which case, if or when you install ffdshow, youll need to get into the codecs option and disable divx5.
