Just got the Logitech Z 5300E 51. surround system. Installed a 5.1 surround card...Problem, I think...The surround speakers, that being the L/R rear ones, volume seems to be very low...I double checked connections...everything okay...Heres the thing...the 3 main connectors are the Center/Bass,(Brown), Rear Sourround (Black, and Line out (Green). No matter how I configure the speakers....the rear surround speakers volume remains the same...If I unplug the Black cable(Surround) from either the back of the subwoofer, or the sound card, it doesnt change anything!! That being...all speakers working as they were before I unplugged the Black cable.. So, what is it for,if unplugged, it doesnt do anything?? I hope I made that clear...very odd

You have the controller hooked up, right?)
Turn up the rear speakers, and lower volume of fronts and center, to balance out some. You've probably already done this, but I had to mention it...........
Did you calibrate the speakers, through the software, yet? I have the same set of speakers, and they sound very good..............
    Good luck!

Software that came with 5.1 sound card. Isn't there software, that will let you choose 5.1 sound output, instead of stereo? Mine has a place to set speakers for 5.1 output, then click on a Calibrate Speakers button, to set and test speakers.
    Good luck!
