im on my way to college next year and my grandfather has been nice enough to contribute 500 bucks towards a laptop, right now im looking for 1G or ram, and like 60-80 GB of hard drive space, i need the most bang for 500$, if 500 is not a reasonable sum of money, i can contribute some, but i dont want to exceed $1000, anyone know of a laptop in the 500$ range that will last me 4 years in college? please help, im shopping tommorow with him, so i need to know asap before i end up buying a lemon.
it depends what country you are in. in the US, i bought a very nice gateway for my wife for around 800. it is a dual core amd, with a gig of ram and a 100 gb hdd, with a dvd read/write and wireless g. best buy has awesome sales sometimes. dell also has some good refurb laptops for super cheap.
i found a GREAT deal, on a great laptop, id show you but i dont want someone snatching it up (its refurb) before i get the funds i need on wednesday! thanks alot for your help!
