if you can't get a 500 to work you will not be able to work the 800. similar structure but the 800 is simply a better machine. takes much longer to come to terms with the 800. if you cannot figure the 500 then bear with it a bit longer and master it before you take the jump

as fintann says the 800 is a better box and its hd also ,the 500 is very basic but still a very good budget box and a cheap way to get in to card sharing and i would think the best dreambox to start learning on . what about the dm500 do you find hard to understand ,if you told us what your having problems with maybe we could explain it to you.

    Ok here's my least problem.

I had Gemini I was told it's bad for box tried a million and one times using Dreamup it wouldn't connect. Then someone recommened I think it was flashwizard it got to 84% then stopped left it for 5 hours still no change.

Now I have a box that does nothing. When I connect to tv the green light comes on won't respond to the remote won't turn to red when I push it the light knocks off after 10mins. But the Lan light inside will stay on if connected but router doesn't give it an IP address so can use CC now or nothing.

Using Dreamup is just stays the same says connected please wait I'll do it in a minute and show pictures really doing my head in. I was told Dreamup the new one isn't good but I've tried nearly everyone of them going and it's the same thing.

Found a nice guy from Westmeath area said he would Jtag (spelling ) (drunk) for me so hopefully get it up and running
