    I have a 5790 yamaha receiver for sale,but the unit turns on for split second and then goes off. I don't think it anything major. It would be a goo buy! Thanks

    On a Yamaha 5790 receiver, when the power shuts off after 3 seconds, that means one of the amplifier channels is blown. It is indeed a major repair. It's probably worth about $100 like that.
