5g Video iPod - No USB Connection?

    hooked up my black 30gb 5g video ipod to my comp via usb that came with it and it turned off. waited till it came back on now it wont connect via usb. not even in disk mode. ran diagnostics and it said no connection even when the usb was connected. what happened and how can i fix it?
