I have 6 avi files that i want to convert and put on to DVD. If i convert them separatly using avi2dvd they will be too big to all go on one disc. They are 6 episodes and have originally been ripped from dvd but how do i re-encode them back to dvd to as to get them all on one disc??????
i'm not familiar with avi2dvd, but i'm assuming it's and idiot proof program where you just choose your file and it encodes it on its own. if you use a program like tmpgenc you can manually set the bitrate of the video lower, which will encode the videos in less quality but in return a smaller size. secondly if you do actually want to put them together as you asked, then i would suggest virtualdub.
I have re-encode to mpeg using TMPGEnc but all the files are too big to get on to one disc and i dont want to lose the quality by lowering the bitrate..
Well you either have to Lower the Bitrate or you have to Put the Files on 2 DVD"s there is No other way about it... Also in Tmpgenc Make sure you select "Mpeg-1 layer 2" as your audio Format becayse LPCM audio format will take up Far too much space on the DVD... when useing Tmpgenc you should be able to Squeeze up to 3 hours on to a DVD with OK Quality but you Might get Better quality if you used the same Bitrate but used the Half D1 DVD Resolution (352+480) which would Produce better quality at this Lower Bitrate.... Cheers
