    Hey all,

Yesterday I got a secondhand 6230i that was supposedly locked to O2, but I can't verify this, my O2 sim won't work in it, I can get to my phonebook etc but cant make or receive calls or texts, I just get no network coverage messsage and there is no signal, I have tried various unlock codes but get nothing, not even a code error message.

Now for the confusing bit! I tried a T-Mobile sim in it and it works perfectly, I tried Orange, no joy, I tried Vodafone, works perfectly. So if two different networks work fine it can't be locked, so then why won't O2 work?

Thanks for any advice you may be able to give me and sorry this was so long!

    Hi Bev,

It sounds like the handset you have bought has been blacklisted with the network, and registered as a stolen phone. in which case you can do nothing but try and get your money back. their are certain people who will change an IMEI number on a phone but this is highly illegal.

    hope this helps

    Thanks Tarquin,

So if one network ie: O2 blacklisted it, would it only be barred on that network? I could always just use a tmobile or vodaphone sim but I like my O2 tariff!

    Many thanks,

    Bev
