7.1 signal into 5.1 reciever

    will I have problems with this? will it just not send the other two channels to the reciever?

    There are no 7.1 signals, from movies or music.. Only goes as high as 6.1. with the 7th channel being matrixed in.

    In answer to your question.................. you should have no problems with it. Receiver should be set to digital auto anyway. Then receiver will detect what signals are sent, and adjust accordingly.
