Hi, I've used Nero to burn a 702Mb CD without using the overburning feature. Nero did not complain and reported a successful burning. Session as closed as well. So far, so good. However, when I try: * to play the CD from my laptop's DVD, the latter refuses to read the CD So, I tried these: * to play on a mate's laptop => it works fine! * to play in the CD-Writer => it works fine! Do you have any idea/clue why my laptop won't read this 702 Mb CD? xkalibur
Do you know if the "rom" in your laptop can read cd-r's/cdrw's?Did you burn to a cd-r or cdr-w?(looks into crytstal ball, can't see nothin') Is your laptop fairly new or like "Ole Betsy"? You can use Nero Info Tool to see what supported read features your rom can read. Nero Info Tool:http://www.ahead.de/en/index.html#c1023694368810 Shoey
The DVD fitted to the laptop has always and still reads all the CD-Rs that I've burnt with Nero. It's 2.5 years old and plays DivX movies fine. The only difference is that this time the DVD refuses to read a CD-R that has a bit more data that the usual (that is 702 Mb). Do you think there is an issue there? Should I have allowed overburning in Nero? Thanks for a reply. xkalibur
I've never encountered a "rom" that couldn't read an overburned disc. Be sure ASPI 4.6 is installed as well as DivX codec. Go to the dvd's website or post the name brand and model to see if you're using the latest firmware. Shoey
