I have a 717meg AVI that I am trying to get on a disk (DVD or CD) so that it can be played in a DVD player. I have Nero 6.0.0.16. Selecting the "Make your own DVD-video" optiion brings up Nero Vision Express 2 version 2.1.2.18. I click "Add video files" to select my 717MB file and I get a message saying that it is too big (4.62GB)for a normal DVD R. It asks if I want Nero to automatically reduce the quaility to fit. I choose "YES," and it says that it can not be reduced any further. Why is Nero trying to make the file so big? Can I make it fit some way?
try updating to Nero Vision express 3. I very often get message about resizing and Nero just takes care of it with no great loss of quality http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/nero-up.php update pack 2
