    Hi All,

Hopefully this is the right thread.

I have downloaded some .mkv movie files and converted them to DVD using ConvertxDVD etc but now I have the capability to play these mkv files directly from a USB thumb drive. However these files all appear 'condensed'. The width is compressed (I assume displaying 720pxls) but the height is just fine. Is there any software that can convert these mkv files to another .mkv file while expanding the widths to 1080 pixels?

    Thanks

It may be that the TV is interpreting the image as 4/3 res.
Are you able to "zoom" the TV so that the picture fills the screen ?

Yes I can but the top and bottom gets clipped if I do that. With normal display the top and bottom fit the picture just fine its just the width that is compressed.

    Thnks
