Hi, about 8 years ago I bought my first home theater. It included a 5-Disc DVD player, (receiver/amplifier) and 6 speakers with a sub-woofer. Now I have a HD satellite receiver, HDTV and a PS3. I would like some insights if it is worth upgrading my home theater. Should I buy 1) a new receiver/amplifier only? 2) buy a whole set with new new speakers (I don't need a new DVD player since I play my DVD's on the PS3) 3)don't bother with the upgrade? Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Unless the prior amp/ receiver was first class I'd go with a new receiver first, then reevaluate the sound quality to see if new speakers are warranted
Thanks for the suggestion. My current receiver is a Sony STR-DE695, which is not bad from what I read, but the biggest flaw is the sound quality. I think I will start to research receivers.
