8x media 2x burner

    I bought 8x DVD-R's and i have a 2x DVD burner. I can burn 4X media most of the time. Is it possible to burn 8x media??? Thanks

    hi

    yes i use 8x ritek go5 on a 4x drive...

    it may say 8x but it goes like this 8x 6x 4x 2x, although not sure on 6x but i think you get the picture ;-])

    yes you can BUT your probably better off not burning at more than 4X max. that way you will get less burn errors and less read errors

    i think they have tried buying 4x media and burnt it ok on a 2x drive so to speak?

    yea the burn speed i used on the 4x media was 2x and it worked ok.
