when I try to encode with latest version of TMPGEnc no matter what bitrate I set, 1 minute of movie is still 10MB. Tried as low as 700kbps and Audio at 160kbps but no difference. Is it a TMPGEnc bug..? Also lip synch. If I set the audio delay from 0 to -150ms when I play back the VCD on my Limit Stand Alone DVD player the sound is still ahead of the video. This appears to be with all VCDs. Could it be the convertor on the stand alone that's not decoding correctly..? Thanks in advance...
When making vcds you shouldn't have to touch the audio delay settings. When using WMP to play back the unburned mpeg-1 files, I always find the audio to be a tad ahead of the video, but when burned as a vcd, both WinDVD and my stand-alone Sanyo player yield perfect a/v sync. Since you're making a vcd, you must be using the vcd template. (right?) That being the case, you shouldn't be *able* to set bitrates of 700kbps for video and 160kbps for audio anyway. The vcd template chooses the correct vcd bitrates which is probably why you always end up with the same filesize. -- K.A. --
Don't think you can get 90 minutes on VCD. However I've achieved 90 minutes using SVCD. Just don't expect much quality if your video has a lot of movements. I used it to put a 90 minute power point presentation with audio. But I've found that really low bitrate SVCDs tend to freak out my vddv av-300 player... Maybe you should bite the bullet and split across 2 CDs.
OK, wasn't setting up the video cd in system settings to mpeg1 video cd (non-standard). I can squeeze 94 minutes onto a 700MB CDR with a video bitrate of 850kbps and audio bitrate of 160kbps. If you load the standard setting, then select load and select unlock.mcf in the template/extra folder this will un-grey all the settings and allow you to set your own custom bitrates. Still got problems with lip-synch though. Thinking it's the stand-alone as it plays perfect in media player...thanks anyway
