Forgive me if I missed any topics similar to this one, I tried a few searches but couldn't find anything. Anyways, on to the problem... I have a plextor px-708a. After I recently formatted I have been having trouble burning DVDs. Wehenever I try to burn anything it gives me an error. Here is the error: I can't understand most of that but I did see something wrong... it is not a SCSI drive like it says. So ofcourse I went to check the driver in the system profile and it is listed as "PLEXTOR DVDR PX-708A SCSI CdRom Device". Is that not weird? The dvdr is not on a scsi cable, I dont even have scsi in this computer. Its connected to a regular ide connection. I read a few more things and came across this: http://www.plextor.com/english/products/pdfs/708A.pdf Acorrding to that the drive should be able to burn dvd-r's at 2x, but I still get the same error. Here is some text from dvd decrypter's status screen before I burn: I can't for the life of me figure out what is wrong. I am using windows XP SP1. I am almost certain the problem is not in dvd decrypter cause I also get errors using nero trying to do the same thing. Any help would be greatly appriciated, thank you, and I'm sorry if I missed anything.
... Tisk, tisk ... I hope that you didn't buy more that a sample ... Memorex DVDs are the worst ... most are made by the Crappy Media Corporation otherwise known as CMC Magnetics Corp. ... Avoid this stuff like it's infected with AIDS ... ... I agree, get Verbatim, Sony, Maxell or something manufactured by Taiyo Yuden and feed that Plextor properly ...
