Does anyone know of a program whereby one can easily split a DVD into separate VOB files of specified sizes? Reason I am asking, I play DVDs on my mobile phone, and I rarely get 90 minutes to sit down and watch a movie on the go. Generally, I get 20 minute breakes etc. My mobile, while it plays perfect, navigates terribly and does not use bookmarks, chapters etc. It just plays files and FFWDs. FFWDing through a 90 minute movie is excruciatingly painful, so I thought if I could split a movie into 20 minute VOBs, I could convert these to 3gps and have 4 to 5 easy segments to watch at my convenience. Problem, not an easy one click solution that I am aware of. I know Clone DVD allows one to split a DVD, however, I want to just set it for 20 minutes, and it just split the DVD into multiple 20 segments until there aren't anymore movie to split. Any ideas? Dennis
I have clonedvdmobile and yes it splits into sections like its predessor does, but I do not want to do this 5 times to get 5 vob files. I want to specify 20 minutes and the program create 5 6 or however many 20 min segments it takes to get the movie broken down.....and do it all in one step with my pressing the button once. Besides, clonedvd mobile still has not produces output in 3gp or 3g2 or mpeg4 that the audio is NOT out of sync YET. Right now, mobile is about as useful as you know what on a bore hog. I emailed slysoft, asked them to work up a profile on my cellphone, they pointed me to open up the device.ini file and try making my own profile. Audio sync problems and nothing works. Out of sync on my computer, AND on my cell phone. Dennis
You can just use something like DVD Shrink in re-author mode. You just set the start and end points and save each section to HDD before encoding into 3GP format. Otherwise you could try Vstrip.
There is a program that I have used for some time that splits files and it works great. It's called file splitter. Check the site below. Good luck..... http://www.dekabyte.com/filesplitter/download.html
