Okay, So I'm currently running a Windows XP PC and I'm hoping to get a macbook for christmas. I'm getting 16mb wireless installed on my current windows PC in preperation for my new laptop at christmas, my sister is also getting one. I was just wondering if a mac would work on the same network as this windows PC? The internet will be installed on my main windows PC and then my and my sister can connect to the internet as soon as we get our laptops on Christmas. Will this work with a mac? Any help is appreciated. Please bare in mind I'm 15 and I'm a nub with macs and wireless networks. Please refrain from flaming me! Thanks guys. - Nerve
Hey man, getting a mac on a windows network is simple. The interenet will work fine. All yuo ahve to do is plug it in or connect to the wireless network. File sharing is a little more difficult. But if you need more help on that, just ask for it and I will be more than happy to help
I dont think I will want to set-up file sharing, but if adding a macbook to a wireless network is as easy as you say it is, then you've helped. Thanks for letting me know, I didn't want to be buying a mac then not have the internet.
Hey man. Anyime. Wireless is a universal thing. Just make sure you ahve Airport on properly, and set to find all available wireless networks. Anymore questions after Christmas, just post here and I'll be sure to reply ASAP. I was new to mac myself not too long ago
