A good free program to convert some video files to WMV 7, 8, or 9

    I wish to play some video files I have on my PC to the xbox 360. However the xbox 360 will only play WMV 7, 8, & 9.

    Does anyone know of any good free converters?

    That's the only conceivable reason to convert to the awful WMV format. Go to videohelp.com, look under Tools on the left, and there is a drop-down box that lets you pick what you want to convert from/to.

    Virtualdub and mediacoder appear to do what you seek, maybe SUPER as well. I don't know about mediacoder, but the others are fantastic free programs.
