hye there... i;ve been experiencing this thing since a few days before... i've shared a pen-drive with a friend.... then suddenly there is 1 text file wrote "surat untuk edelin" in the pen-drive... i've tried to delete it...but then it keep coming back... i expect it is a malware...as i tried to scan using AVG anti-virus and nthg seems to be detected... as right now it only infected the pen-drive but not the other driver... thanks...a lot..
if it keeps comming back then maybe its not file you need to delete. Iam not so sure of malware. Sounds more like a trojan to me. Try scanning it with avast. just type free avast download into google
lol... thanks a lot...by i dont hope for that kind of answer... thanks anyway kateman.. btw....back to basic...here is the hjt logfile... wait i just had an idea, i'll look at your hijackthis log and then tell you what to delete (if anything) and then i'll tell you to copy the data on your usb to C: then you can scan it again and if anything comes up you'll know what it's called and that it came from your usb.
yea... i know kate...but then lets give this to the experts k? i hope they can figure it out for what's next... thanks..
lol at this thread. Anyway, to start things off, your system is not clean. Nothing very serious, but bad none the less. Go here and download [bold]ATF Cleaner[/bold]. Delete these files in safe mode. C:\tmp\[bold]Isass.exe[/bold] <--Do not confuse this with Lsass, which is a legit system file. C:\Documents and Settings\NORASR~1(*read note*)\Local Settings\Temp\[bold]xpinstall.exe[/bold] *Note* When path is showing ~1 it means the file path name is too long to show. NORASR~1 is the name of the account, but I don't know your name so I can't tell the full path. Just look in you Local Settings\Temp folder. Still in safe mode. Open ATF Cleaner. Check "Select All". Click "Empty Selected". Restart in normal mode. Okay, on to the flash drive problem. Scan the drive with two online scanners. Since it's a flash drive the scans shouldn't take long. While your there, scan your computer with Kaspersky. Kaspersky ActiveScan Post back with the full system Kaspersky log, both flash drive scan logs, and a new HijackThis log.
hye there,,, lol to this threat?? lol to me??huhu..=( here... i've done it...but when i tried to search for the long file name noras~\local setting\temp\xpinstall.exe... it is not there.... btw..i'm in college n we r restricted to hv a download at max of 2MG only...n the online scanning need us to download bout 7MG..so it cant be done... n here is the log... 2 MB? Wow, they don't give much. Wouldn't kill them to give atleast 50. In that case, just copy all the files you need from the flash drive to your HD and reformat the drive. Then send the files back to the flash drive. About xpinstall.exe: Well, I just now(with more research) found out it's not malware; it belongs to Firefox. But it was running from a temp folder so no harm done. It's fine that it wasn't there, ATF Cleaner deleted it if it was there. You need to update Java, it is way out of date. Still having 4.0 is practically asking to be infected. Go here and download Java Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9. Uninstall all previous version and updates of JRE via Add/Remove Programs. Restart and install Update 9.
hehe.... so im clean? is it...yay!!!hooray for niobis..thanks for the information.. well i'm tired of this "restricted" download..as i can only download lecture notes...urghh.... actually...i did make some research....n i fixed my problems by using Hjt..i delete the process of the isass.exe...n also delete some file tht is related to the "trojan" am i right??in the system32... well...i did get the trojan out...but my folder option is gone...huh?? but then niobis come to the rescue with the ATF cleaner...thanks...n good that my folder option is back ^_^!! thanks again...
