a new cd burner

hi I just bought a new dell cd burner..i tried to install it but when I did nothing happened..i know when you install these things the computer feels it then you install it via the new burner...but nothing happened..im on windows 10 64 bits on a dell computer..thanks

should be just plug and play.do you see it in device manager?can you insert a cd,open and close the tray?
