Hi, I would like to make a copy of my new DVD Robots so I used, as usual, DVD Decrypter. It finished the copy without any mistake but when I checked the vob files on the hard disk with Media Player or Nero ShowTime I found a lot of problems: with Media Player I was unable even to see the movie and with Nero ShowTime it start to jump after few seconds with lots of repetition and small freezes of video and audio. For the first time (maybe it's been always there) I noted on the dvd the logo "Copy Protected": a new protection?
To add more details: Media Player was unable to show the video but only the audio even with the original DVD inserted in the PC...

I think it's you video player media player sucks for playing dvd's period. Personally I would recomend WINDVD or PowerDvd. I have tried as you have with nero and media player and either had no luck getting it to play or it was choppy. Never had any of these problems with the 2 programs i recomended. It's not a new encrption. And as always a good oll scan disk and defrag of your drives can't hurt. Hardware problems CPU and Memory can come into play here. My dvd's played much better when I upgraded my pc from 800mhz cpu 256meg memory to 3gig cpu and 1gig memory. Just my 2 cents worth I hope you get it worked out.

    Good Luck

I backed up this movie using DVD Decrypter and then Shrink with no problems. I agree you better try another media player, this is an easy movie.

Thank you for all your feedbacks. I tried all the different possibilities you suggested but I had always the same problem, so I decided to try to burn a DVD-RW: everything was right, it works smoothly without any problems... Still I'm not able to explain the issue: after The Robots I back-upped other DVDs with flawless results on the same hard-disk and with the same softwares...

i don't see how you can have a problem one disc and not other discs unless they are different formats????
but glad to see you got sorted out.
why all the fuss about using any decrypter with shrink?
all i have ever used is shrink on it's own!
it's always worked fine for me.

I always thought shrink was not able to decrypt the DVD, I always use DVD Decrypter to copy the files on hd and then DVD-2-One to copy just the movies and not the extra (my first choice is to have maximum quality)

I have always used just the shrink programme and always with very good quality
try it, what you got to lose?
insert disc, start shrink, select "open disc" select the drive the disc to be backed-up is in click "o/k", shrink anylises the disc, click on "back-up", click on "dvd region" here you can have the region of your choice, click on "target device" select your burner or hard-disc folder, click "o/k" shrink starts.
if the disc is too big for one dvd click "re-author" click on the main movie (usually title 1) drag it over into the left hand screen
click "back-up" this just backs the film with no extra's but keeps the subtitles (switchable)
any questions send e-mail to **Email Removed** and will do my best to help
P.S i know it says newbie on my membership but i have been backing-up
    dvds for years now
