a newbie in need

    well i was looking at my new presario v2000 laptop and saw that it had something like [bold]s[ ]->[/bold] (sorry guys i didn't know how else to tell you how it looks and the [ ] is supposed to be a box)

    and i thoght it ment s video...i go downstairs and looked at my dvd players s video plug and it didn't match the plug on my laptop.

    can someone tell me what that symbol means please...i really want to play my ps2 and use my laptop as my screen :)

    bajtra is correct.

    It's a mini DIN S-video OUTPUT. Your laptop screen can't be used a a PS2 monitor unless you have a tuner card or vid cap device.

    is there a way i can connect that up to my dvd player with a s video jack

    could i use this:

    Since this is most likely an OUTPUT you will be sending the video image of your laptop monitor to your DVD player. Why would you want to do that? Doesn't the Presario V2000 have a DVD drive?

    crap its an output...i gotta read the replys better :D

    i guess now i have to buy a video capturing thing thanks for the help though
