I recently purchased a DVD video which I wanted to backup for protection and save the original. After making a DVD -R backup it became obvious that heavy compression degradated the copy. Looking at the the original I found one Video_TS folder holding 7.85Gb. The Audio _TS folder was empty. Is there a way to make an exact mirror copy of the original to maintain the resolution? How does one go about recording 7.85Gb to a 4.7Gb DVG -R ?? This is probably basic to most readers but before I go chasing it I wanted to know if what I was trying to accomplish was obtainable. Any and all responses appreciated.
to make an exact copy u will need dual layer media. i would suggest verbatim +r DL media, make sure u have a DL burner too.use dvddecrypter to copy in iso then burn in iso, if ur doing newer movies u will need anydvd running in the back ground. to get the best quality on a dvd5 (single layer...4.7gb) u need to use dvdrebuilder pro and cce. both of these cost money. if u want to go for free try this. use dvdfabdecrypter to rip then use dvdrebuilder basic to process and hc(hanksencoder) to encode, then burn with nero or what ever burn engine u use.
