I just figured out a way to do it. You got to make a iso of the game cd using winiso or similar. Then mount in a virtual drive. Daemon Tools is the only virtual drive I have been able to get it to work. Under the emulation tab I set all options to on and it works great. Winiso is the easist to use to make a iso file.

This way is easiest without ruining the game or getting in trouble on the forumn. I have tried it on doom 3 today with the patch installed. Ran without a problem. The key seems to be that all the emulation tabs need to be on with daemon

BTW....The reason Im posting this is not to get banned or nothing, but to help out newbs who are always asking for no cd cracks. This is a safe legal way to do it.

so as long as you own the game this will work.kool so i dont have to have 20 cds out and always changing them huh?i feel these game companys should put a special # in the box so you dont have to load a disk in the cdrom to play.its a pain in the arse,if you know what i mean. peace bro...thanks

Good post, Ozzie. Most of those who ask for cracks, don't state whether or not they own the game. I would suspect that 99% of them don't, but the ones who do own it, should say so in the post. Then, there should be no trouble with the mods.

this is probably one of the most useful things to do, cause i absolutly hate having to worry about if my disk will work or not. i've done it once before, then the disk was trashed, haha, but as long as that iso was alive, i could still play my game

Thank you everyone. I am glad it can help some and I didnt get my arse in a crack..lol.

See one of the biggest reason I posted this short tutorial is the other day I posted it wont work. But at the time I was using nero image drive. I decided to try dameon tools today cause I just got dooom 3 and it was lagging cause I have a 6 yr old compaq cd-rom. So I decided to try it and it worked. Must be something bout the way dameon was coded. Im not promising it will work with all, but so far it has worked for three of my games.

Btw...here is the links for win iso and damon

    http://www.winiso.com/

    http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/portal/download.php?mode=ViewCategory&catid=5

If anyone needs a hand I will try to explain it, but Im not quite famaliar yet with dameon yet. Only used it today, but it works.

Winiso is really easy to use. Under the action button click "make iso out of cdrom". Then click the destination of the image file and click the radio button for file not aspi. Click make and your done. I dont know what aspi means...maybe someone can clarify...but it wont make the iso if on aspi. It has to be file. Then your good to go. Takes less than five mins and your set. Plus games run good that boot off the disk since the disk is virtual now..lol

heres how to use it:eek:pen the game doctor control panel on desktop.go to make an image, select drive, then theres two ways to make a image.theres like an automatic[for old games, that one is check ,below that, theres another one[you have to pick which way the game is protected, theres a list on the web site, under game center. to tell you what to pick like doom3 is safedisk 3,repulic commando is sucurerom]check and pick the right protection and then make the image.when its done, you dont start the program like demon.you have to load it will say load or eject.load it then just click on your decktop icon that you made for the game works everytime.so much easier once you get the hang of it.i know can do dvds, but creal quick for games.i couldnt get that winiso\deamon to work on alot of games because of the protections,i guess they protect them different in the us,i dont know but this works great...peace out...how do you work iso\daemon?i like to know anyway, the same or alittle different, can u explain?
