So basically my situation is this:
Because I was so hyped up about the new Pokemon games coming out, I decided to buy a copy of SoulSilver. I read some pretty reliable easy-to-follow information concerning transfers via FTP servers. My question is, is this a one-way street? What I would like to do is take my retail save file to back up onto my PC and maybe mess around a bit with Pokesav. Nothing too big, but should I want to transfer the save file back, is there any way to do so with the original retail game or will I be forced to ultimately put it on my R4?

Just for reference's sake, this is the website I obtained the information from for backing up DS games via Wi-Fi.

I've never attempted to put a sav file back onto an original cart, so I haven't researched it in depth, but I have heard people say many times that save files can only be dumped from an original cart, not loaded back onto it.
