Is there a software which would say whether a video file is interlaced or progressive?

Generally Speaking you can tell from the Frame Rate.....

Most Video that is 23.976fps will Be Progressive...Most Video that is 25fps and is From a DVD source is Progressive(TV/Video Source will usually be Interlaced) ,Most Video that is 29.976fps will be Interlaced....

If you Load your Source Files into "Tmpgenc" useing the "Wizard" it will Scan the Files for Interlaced or Progressive and then set the "Video Type" setting to either "Interlaced" or "Progressive" so you can Find out this way....

    Cheers
