Okay, i had just installed Rappelz (on online RPG aka a fake WOW) and restart my comp, when the User select/logon screen had loaded i selected my profile to login, it took xtremely long for me to login, so i restart and try again, but same thing happens so i leave it to do its thing. After about 10 minutes it had loaded, and i got my nice lil' surprise, everything had been changed.
Nearly everything had been put back to its original status (e.g. my theme, icons on DT, all folders hidden, all programs acting like its was the first time i had ever used it kinda thing), so im like wtf SOAB, i also find a couple of files had been removed but they wernt very important.
The only thing that hadn't really been changed were the program files. Also usually my compis eating up about 464/4096 of my ram as ive logged on no programs initiated by me, but now its running at 330/4096 so a load of my processes have been terminated.
So i try go on a fixing spree to put everything back (w.g registry fixers, virus sscanners, matainence programs and hijackhis kinda thing) and i find my admin ccess had been revoked so i couldnt start any aniviruses etc. so i check all users on the pc and theres a new user with the admin access and password protection. So somehow i was able to delete this admin acc on my now limited access acc and regain my admin position, but i continued to get the limited access message while trying to change anything or run processes. After this i restartedthe comp to see if there were any changes, nothing was different, i still had my admin access but i still cannot run or change anything.
So im stumpped, im am pretty knoledgable with computers, but ive done everything that i can do.
Formatting is my last resort since i had to go through alot of trouble to get my system perfect (well in my eyes at least), there were quite a few compatibility issues i had to deal with which took alot of time to fix and i REAAALLY dont want to have to go throught that again.

P.s. ironically tuneup utilities popped up and recommened that i shold set up a system restore point before i had restarted my comp, SO KUDOS TO ME.

have you tried/considered system restoring to a previous time. last time i checked there are auto restore points made on a monthly/weekly basis. otherwise try going into safe mode and go in as admin, unless that account that u dont have the PW for is the only admin, and fix the stuff. also if you have any firewire ports then you can bypass the login password via some hack so then you can go in as that admin and fix all of that stuff. i hope i helped
