I flashed a liteon yesterday and when reading the key jungleflasher reported missing data and asked me if i wanted to fill in missing info,
The serial number was correct, the HW number was A0A1 instead of A2 so i corrected that and the serial number from the laser barcode and board barcode was just "???" so i filled in the relevant details (incidentally the laser barcode was obvious but i actually had to unscrew the board from the drive and flip it over to get the info off of that!!).
Can anyone tell me who has experienced this whether the "???" is there intentionally and i should have left it blank, or whether i was right to fill in the missing info..and also whether the board serial i used was the right one, it has only just dawned on me that i may have had to use the serial number of the Mainboard as opposed to the board in the dvdrom drive...any ideas guys??

    Cheers!!

After doing a search i have since found out that all the info i typed was indeed correct! so if anyone out there is curious as to how to fix it then grab the latest jungleflasher PDF and it has the instructions in the "appendix" section of the tutorial.

Sometimes the serial data doesn't get pulled or it isn't present in the firmware. Either way, it is fixable.

this was a commom problem for older versions of jungleflasher it would not pull that data so now that people are upgrading firmware they are detecting that problem its not a big deal just fill it in with the necessary info and ur set

So if the serial data isn't in the firmware or is incorrect, could that be why I'm getting the bad serial data error in jf?

"Bad serial data" is an issue with the key not being dumped. "serial" data is how the data is dumped. I know it might be misleading since it says serial data is bad. But the problem the original poster experienced is after the key was dumped. The issue you have is with the probe you are using or connection method (Serial DB-9 or USB to Serial).
